GOAL: PRO-ACTIVE "SAFER SCHOOLS": SCHOOL SAFETY IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT!
We look forward to working with you to present these community pages for raising awareness about school safety/violence. With knowledge, accurate information, and community participation, TOGETHER we can create Pro-Active Safer Schools. We will discuss the often ignored/hidden/unreported issues students and teachers face as a result of the need for schools to project an image of success. This false "successful image" is crippling/harmful to students, families, educators, and our community. A false "successful image" can be manipulated by a focus on reducing ‘numbers’, the under reporting of incidents of violence.
In this website, with your help and sharing, we intend to focus and discuss what we can do to improve unsafe conditions for students and teachers.
We invite you to share positive avenues working in your schools/school system: excellent/successful examples of students, teachers, local school administrators, central office administrators, and schools pro-actively addressing school safety/school violence.
