How can we effectively work to assure the safety of our children and school personnel?
SAFER SCHOOLS Team members shared concerns of school violence at scheduled meetings with:
*GCS Board Members (7+x's),
*Guilford County Commissioners (3x's),
*Guilford County's 10 Mayors/Town Councils/Citizens,
*Guilford County Legislators,
*NCAE/NCRSP (NCAE: NC Association of Educators: NCRSP: NC Retired School Personnel) &
*Church and Community Forum Participants.
What Can I Do?
*Organize forums led by "SAFER SCHOOLS" Executive Board Members. Forum is in Panel Discussion Format: sharing/?'s/discussion with participants/community.
*Encourage and share proactive, effective safer school approaches.
*Write legislators requesting their support. (Note 3 requests on website page below)
*Write editorials regarding school safety.
*If threatened or feel unsafe, complete and file a police statement ASAP. Keep the original copy: this will be needed if I petition the court for a Restraining Order.
